Calculators are a useful tool for performing complex mathematical formulas quickly and accurately. However, sometimes these formulas can become quite lengthy and difficult to manage. In these cases, it can be helpful to use the result of one calculator within another calculator's formula to simplify the process.

Creating Global Formulas

Start by opening your calculator formula builder, you can do this on any calculator that you have on your funnel.

Then open the "Global Formulas" dropdown and hit the "+ Add Global Formula" button.

Doing this will open an additional formula builder window. This new window is where you can build your own global formula, and it will be located above your calculator's formula builder window, so you'll have both formulas visible at the same time.

The next step will be to name your formula (we always recommend naming them in order to keep things tidy, especially if you plan to have more than one), and create the formula itself.

Global formulas are created in the same way as normal formulas. This means that you can use all available operators and functions to create your global formula, which can be made as simple or as complex as you need it to be.

Using Global Formulas

Once you have created your global formula, you can use it inside another calculator's formula by simply adding it in, just like you would do with questions and hidden fields.

Global formulas allow you to use the result of a formula, inside a calculator's formula. Since you can add as many global formulas to your formula as necessary, this makes complex formulas much easier to manage.

Your global formulas will be available inside the funnel where they were created, so any calculator that you use in that funnel will have these formulas available to pick from. Global calculators are not available across funnels however, they're limited to the funnel they were created in.

ℹ️ It is important to note that it is not possible to use a global formula inside of another global formula. Global formulas can only be added to a calculator formula.

Testing Your Formulas

If you want to test your calculator's formula after you added your global formulas in, then you can do so with our formula builder test mode. Read more about it here.
