Google Ads conversion tags help track customer actions after clicking on your ads, such as signing up, making a purchase, or completing a form.

You can use Google Tag Manager (GTM) to integrate involve.me events into Google Ads to measure conversions effectively.

Prerequisites

Before setting up Google Ads conversion tracking with involve.me, ensure you have:

  • A Google Tag Manager account and container.

  • Google Ads conversion tracking set up.

  • A Conversion Linker tag in GTM.

  • A conversion action created in Google Ads.

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Enable Custom Events in involve.me

involve.me automatically tracks user interactions. You can send these events to Google Tag Manager for tracking in Google Ads.

  1. Navigate to your involve.me funnels Configure page.

  2. Then scroll all the way down to the "Tracking & Scripts" section.

  3. Make sure that your Container ID has been added to the Google Tag Manager field.

  4. Identify the event you want to track (e.g., form submissions, completed purchases, or quiz completions).

2. Create a Google Ads Conversion Tag in GTM

  1. In your Google Tag Manager workspace, click the "Add a new tag" button.

  2. Click Tag Configuration > Google Ads > Google Ads Conversion Tracking.

  3. Retrieve your Conversion ID and Conversion Label from Google Ads:

    • Open Google Ads and go to Tools & Settings > Conversions.

    • Click on the conversion action you want to track.

    • In Tag Setup, select Use Google Tag Manager.

    • Copy the Conversion ID and Conversion Label.

  4. In GTM, paste the Conversion ID and Conversion Label into their respective fields.

  5. Optionally, set up a Conversion Value, Transaction ID, and Currency Code using GTM variables.

3. Set Up an involve.me Event Trigger in GTM

  1. In GTM, go to Triggers and click New.

  2. Choose Custom Event as the trigger type.

  3. Enter the involve.me event name (e.g., involve.me_ProjectCompleted).

  4. Save the trigger.

4. Link the Trigger to the Google Ads Tag

  1. Go back to the Google Ads Conversion Tag created earlier.

  2. In the Triggering section, select the involve.me custom event trigger.

  3. Click Save.

5. Publish the Changes

  1. Click Preview to test the setup.

  2. If everything works correctly, click Submit and publish your GTM container.

  3. Monitor conversions in Google Ads to ensure proper tracking.

By following these steps, you can successfully track involve.me custom events as Google Ads conversions using Google Tag Manager.
