By using involve.me's native integration with Kajabi you can - for every submission that is completed - automatically create subscribers, and receive submission data.
If you want to test the integration before committing to a paid plan, you can do so by registering for a 14 day of free trial.
Not entirely sure how to set up the integration? Make sure to learn about it in our dedicated article first.
You can connect the integration either by navigating to the "Integrations" tab in the navbar or by opening the dropdown menu of your funnel's card and selecting "Connect" - then just click "Connect" on Kajabi's card.
Create a new connection and enter your API credentials (API Key and API Secret), which can be found under Settings > Account Details > API Credentials.
Important: To use the Kajabi API, you must have the Kajabi Pro plan.
Even though every Kajabi account allows you to view and copy your API Key and API Secret, actual API access is only included in the Pro plan. If your account is not on the Kajabi Pro plan, the integration will return an error that looks like incorrect API credentials. Kajabi does not differentiate between invalid credentials and valid credentials without API access (non-Pro plan). Once you have successfully connected Kajabi to involve.me, you'll be able to see the name of this connection.
Data Mapping
The integration always sends the email address, which is used to create a new contact or update an existing one.
You can also send additional data from your funnel fields. To store this information, the corresponding custom fields must exist beforehand.
Contacts created through the integration are automatically set to Subscribed.
You can also assign tags to contacts.
Please note that the tag must already exist before it can be used. For example, if you want to tag contacts with the funnel name, you must first create that tag in Kajabi.
How to Create Custom Fields
If you are not using forms, you can create custom fields manually via Settings > Form Settings > Form Fields.
Alternatively, you can also create them through a contact:
Go to All Contacts.
Select any contact.
Click Edit.
Scroll down and click + Add custom field.
Create your custom field.
Once created, the field will be available across all contacts. You can find more more about it here
Mapping Fields
After connecting the integration to your funnel, you will see the “Manage Custom Fields” button in the funnel’s integration settings in involve.me.
This is where you map your involve.me fields to the corresponding fields.
To map a field:
Select the field from involve.me.
Choose the destination field where the data should be stored.
For more information on mapping please see this article here.
Special Characters
Special characters in name fields are accepted and stored without rejecting the contact.
Good to Know
If you duplicate a funnel that already has this integration configured, the integration settings will be duplicated as well.
If a submission is received with an email address that already exists, a new contact will not be created. Instead, the existing contact will be updated.
Opt-in Checkbox and GDPR
In order to be fully GDPR compliant, you will need to tick the option "Only trigger integration when opt-in checkbox element was selected" in your integration settings and add a dedicated opt-in checkbox to your involve.me funnel.
Here's a step-by-step guide on how to set it up.
When editing the integration settings, you can optionally activate Double Opt-In, which sends a confirmation email that must be clicked before your participant is added to the audience. You can change the content of this email directly in Kajabi: Click here
If GDPR compliance is not relevant to your use case, you can skip this step.
Testing Your Integration
Once the integration has been set up and connected to your funnel, it will be time to test it in order to ensure everything is working as intended, learn how to do it here.
