You can add participants automatically to your Marketo Engage lists or update their details using the native Marketo integration.
If you want to test the integration before committing to a paid plan, you can do so by registering for a free 14-day trial.
Not entirely sure how to set up the integration? Make sure to learn about it in our dedicated article first.
Connecting the Integration
You can connect the integration either by navigating to the "Integrations" tab in the navbar or by opening the dropdown menu of your funnel's card and selecting "Connect" - then just click "Connect" on Marketo's card.
In order to connect the integration, start by entering an Internal Connection Name, followed by your Marketo Client ID, Client Secret and Identity URL.
Once you have connected the integration, you'll be able to see the name of your connection and the date of creation.
Data Mapping for the Marketo Integration
The integration will send email and default personal data fields automatically.
For your list to accept more data, please create "Custom fields" on Marketo accordingly beforehand.
Once the integration has been connected to your funnel, you'll find the button "Manage Custom Fields" on the funnel's integration settings, which is where you can map the involve.me fields to the integration fields.

*This is the result of the first calculator in the funnel, if there's only one calculator you can use this field.
**If you have multiple calculators in your funnel you can specify them by ID.
Data From Question Elements
Any other collected data fields (eg. from multiple choice elements, free text inputs, sliders, opt-in checkboxes, etc,) can be mapped through "custom field mapping".
Good to Know
When creating a new custom field, make sure you choose the right object (Person) and field type, as it is not possible to delete an incorrectly created field in order to create a new one with the same name (you can hide the field however). It is also not possible to change the type of "Program Member Info" fields to "Person".
Custom fields on existing contacts will be updated when the same email is sent again. However if a submission with the same phone number is sent again, a new person is added to the list instead, no existing contact will be updated.
Make sure your Marketo users have the necessary permissions. The lack of permissions can, for example, stop them from being able to retrieve, create, and update custom objects or leads details. In the case of API users, missing permissions can even stop them from being able to create a Marketo connection.
More information on Roles in the Marketo documentation here.
If you have configured a Marketo integration on a funnel and you duplicate said funnel, your integration settings will duplicate as well.
Opt-in Checkbox and GDPR
In order to be fully GDPR compliant, you will need to tick the option "Only trigger integration when opt-in checkbox element was selected" on your integration's settings and add a dedicated opt-in checkbox that sends data over to the integration, to your involve.me funnel.
Here's a step-by-step guide on how to set it up.
If GDPR is of no concern to you, then you can skip this step.
Testing Your Integration
Once the integration has been set up and connected to your funnel, it will be time to test it in order to ensure everything is working as intended, learn how to do it here.

Troubleshooting
Only the Participant’s Email Address Is Being Received
It can happen that the only submission data you're receiving in Marketo is the participant's email address and nothing else. Usually, this is because the user that created the connection credentials does not have the necessary permissions to fill in the fields.
This can be easily fixed by doing the following in Marketo:
Go to Admin > Users & Roles > Roles
Select the user whose permissions you want to edit and click "Edit Role"
On the "Permissions" section go to "Access API" and tick the following two options:
