With the “Limit multiple submissions from the same user” setting in your funnel settings, you can create a one-submission experience for each participant using the same browser.

This is especially helpful when you want each participant to submit your quiz, survey, or funnel once. It can also help keep your integration contact lists, such as Mailchimp, Hubspot, Brevo, and others, cleaner by reducing repeated updates from the same participant.

How to Set It Up

To activate this option, open your funnel settings.

You can do this by selecting “Configure” from the dropdown arrow on your funnel card.

Then, scroll down to the Access section and select “Limit multiple submissions from the same user.”

Once selected, you can customize how the experience works:

  • Choose duration
Choose how long the participant should wait before they can participate in your funnel again.

  • Message for users who completed the funnel
Add the message participants will see after they have already completed the funnel.

Good to know

The information below also applies to the “Stop showing once completed” and “Hide once viewed” features, which are covered later in this article.

This participation setting works based on the participant’s browser. This means the experience is recognized through the browser being used.

If a participant uses another browser or clears their browser cookies, they may be able to create another submission.

The “Indefinite” duration setting keeps the experience active for as long as the browser allows. Browser cookie duration can vary, and many browsers define a maximum cookie age. For example, Google Chrome has a default maximum cookie age of 400 days.

Use this feature with embeds

The “Limit multiple submissions from the same user” setting can be used together with the embed options “Stop showing once completed” and Hide once viewed.”

These embed options help manage when an embedded popup appears again in the same browser after a participant has submitted their answers once.

You can also choose how long this effect should last.

The “Stop showing once completed” and “Hide once viewed” options are available on the Grow plan or higher.

They work with the following embed types:

  • Popup

  • Chat Button

  • Side Panel

  • Side Tab

Note: These options do not apply when the popup is set to appear “On button click.”
