With the OTP SMS Verification feature, you can send a one-time code via a text message to a participant's mobile phone in order to verify their identity. This ensures that the data you're collecting is that of valid high quality leads.
How to Set it Up
The OTP SMS Verification is essentially an integration with Twilio, as such you'll need to have a Twilio account first, and then you can set up the integration on our end.
You can find the Twilio under the "Integrations" tab in the navbar.
In order to connect Twilio, you'll need your Account SID, Auth Token and the From Number, which is the Twilio phone number from where the codes should be sent out.
Once you're done click "Connect" in order to create the connection.
Now the next step will be to enable the OTP SMS Verification in your funnel.
You can find and enable this feature in your Contact Form's settings. Make sure you have selected the Contact Form first in order for the options to appear on the side.
Once you enable the feature, you'll be able to pick the Twilio connection from the dropdown, which should look like this once you're done:
Enabling the OTP SMS Verification also enables the Enhanced Phone Field & Validation feature by default.
How Email Verification Works
This feature works by sending a one-time code (OTP) to the number that is provided by the participant. It is available on both the phone and mobile fields in the Contact Form.
The participant must then enter the code they received in order to proceed with filling the Contact Form.
This process not only verifies the existence of the number, but also confirms that the participant has access to it.
If the verification has been successful, the participant will see a checkmark next to their phone number.
Participants will then be able to proceed further into completing the Contact Form, and finally your funnel. If the participant needs to change their number, they can just click the "Change Number" button and verify the new number in order to proceed.
By implementing this feature, you can be sure that the email addresses collected through your contact form are legitimate and not fake or spam accounts.
Verified numbers will have a checkmark icon (✅) in the "Personal Data" section of the submission. You can view this by heading over to the analytics section of your funnel and viewing any submission where the number was verified.
Testing the Feature
In Draft funnels you can enable this feature and test it regardless of the plan you're currently on.
If you decide to publish the funnel however, you can still test this premium feature but your funnel will be limited to 10 submissions. You can lift this restriction by upgrading.
