You can add participants automatically as subscribers in Moosend and populate the contact custom fields using the native Moosend integration.

Not entirely sure how to set up the integration? Make sure to learn about it in our dedicated article first.

You can connect the integration either by navigating to the "Integrations" tab in the navbar or by opening the dropdown menu of your project's card and selecting "Integrations" - then just click "Connect" on Moosend's card.

In order to connect the integration, start by entering an Internal Connection Name, followed by your Moosend API Key.

Once you have connected integration, you'll be able to see the name of your connection and its date of creation.

Data mapping for the Moosend integration

The integration will send email and default properties automatically.

For your list to accept more data, please create "Custom fields" on Moosend accordingly beforehand.

In the following sections you'll learn how different data fields are mapped to Moosend. Once the integration has been connected to your project, you'll find the button "Manage Custom Fields" on the project's integration settings.

Default custom fields that are already predefined by Moosend:

  • Email

  • Name (first and last)

  • Mobile phone

Default custom fields that need to be created beforehand:

You need to create the fields in Moosend exactly as shown below in the column "Moosend Fields". Make that sure that you have already created and selected an email list before creating the fields.

Data from question elements

Any other collected data fields (eg. from multiple choice elements, free text inputs, sliders, opt-in checkboxes, etc,) can be mapped through "custom field mapping".

Good to know

  • The integration will not trigger if an invalid mobile number is provided.

  • If you have configured a Moosend integration on a project and you duplicate said project, your integration settings will duplicate as well.

  • Custom fields on existing contacts will be updated when the same email is sent again.

Opt-in Checkbox and GDPR

In order to be fully GDPR compliant, you will need to tick the option "Only trigger integration when opt-in checkbox element was selected" on your integration's settings and add a dedicated opt-in checkbox that sends data over to the integration, to your involve.me project.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to set it up.

If GDPR is of no concern to you, then you can skip this step.

Testing your integration

Once the integration has been set up and connected to your project, it will be time to test it in order to ensure everything is working as intended, learn how to do it here.
