You can send your participants submission data automatically to a Trello board of your choice and select to which list this data should go to by using the native Trello integration.

If you want to test the integration before committing to a paid plan, you can do so by registering for a free 14-day trial.

Not entirely sure how to set up the integration? Make sure to learn about it in our dedicated article first.

Connecting the Integration

You can connect the integration either by navigating to the "Integrations" tab in the navbar or by opening the dropdown menu of your project's card and selecting "Connect" - then just click "Connect" on Trello's card.

In order to connect the integration, you'll need to login to your Trello account first.

Once you have logged in, you'll need to authorize involve.me to access your Trello account. Just click "Allow" and you'll be all set.

Once you have connected integration, you'll be able to see your connection and the name it currently has.

Trello Boards

When setting up the integration, you will need to select which one of your Trello boards you want to use, followed by the list that will receive the submission data.

Additionally, you will have the choice to pick the name of your card title, by choosing from a list of predefined options.

Make sure to set this all up before using or testing the integration.

Data Mapping for the Trello Integration

The integration will send default properties automatically, which are as follows:

  • Email

  • Outcome

  • Project

  • Title

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Gender

  • Job title

  • Organization name

  • Street

  • Zip

  • City

  • State

  • Country code

  • Country

  • Phone

  • Fax

  • Outcome points

  • Calculator result*

  • Calculators by ID (eg. ca_xxxxxxx)**

  • Facebook

  • Twitter

  • Instagram

  • Linkedin

  • Embed URL

  • Remote ID

*This is the result of the first calculator in the project, if there's only one calculator you can use this field.

**If you have multiple calculators in your project you can specify them by ID.

Data From Question Elements

Any other collected data fields (eg. from multiple choice elements, free text inputs, sliders, opt-in checkboxes, etc,) can be mapped through "custom field mapping".

Good to Know

  • A card's tittle will turn into "Submission Date and Time" by default, if the option/data you picked is not being collected.

    • E.g. If the card's title is set to "phone" but you don't collect a phone number, then the card's title will be the submission's date and time instead.

  • When using the "Submission Date and Time" option for your card title, the time will be in your timezone.

  • If you have configured a Trello integration on a project and you duplicate said project, your integration settings will duplicate as well. You can at any time remove the connection for the duplicated project and add a different one.

Opt-in Checkbox and GDPR

In order to be fully GDPR compliant, you will need to tick the option "Only trigger integration when opt-in checkbox element was selected" on your integration's settings and add a dedicated opt-in checkbox that sends data over to the integration, to your involve.me project.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to set it up.

If GDPR is of no concern to you, then you can skip this step.

Testing Your Integration

Once the integration has been set up and connected to your project, it will be time to test it in order to ensure everything is working as intended, learn how to do it here.
